This year, 10
future-interested high school students will be awarded scholarships
to attend Accelerating Change 2005 courtesy of UAT,
one of the nation's leading educational institutions for IT-oriented
students. Education is an important part of ASF's
nonprofit mission. We are honored to partner with UAT to bring
young, dynamic minds to our annual event.
Directions: To apply, please submit your full name,
birthdate, parent/guardian name (if under 18),
name of school, grade level, email, mailing address, and phone number,
along with your essay to ivetabrigis(at)accelerating(dot)org.
Please specify "AC2005 Scholarship Program" in the email
subject.
Students must
be entering 9th-12th grade this fall to be eligible. An ASF committee
will review the submitted essays and choose 10 to attend the conference.
Applications are rolling, and you will be informed of the committee
decision within ten days of receipt of your essay.

write 200-400 words (don't worry about it being
perfect, just share your thoughts) that touches on ANY of the following
(not necessarily all):
1. Briefly
describe some positive social and technological changes that you
think may happen during your lifetime.
2. Briefly
describe some negative social and technological changes you are
concerned may happen during your lifetime.
3. How
do you imagine we can we make a better future for ourselves, our
communities, and the world?
4. How would you like your government, businesses, schools, or other
institutions to help you to make a better future?
